HEAVEN - DVDJ UNIQUE - Featured In DJ Times Magazine

In Heaven, we will have a Pioneer Pro video DJ coming in to play. DVDJ Unique has been featured in DJ Times magazine, DJ Expo show representing Pioneer DJ equipment, and plays across the country in nightclubs. His specialty is video mixing like you’ve never seen before.

BIO:
Jay Lopez is one jock who will gleefully testify to the wonders of video. Known professionally as DVDJ Unique, the Miami-based jock has taken his career to another level with his mastery of video mixing on Pioneer’s DVJ-1000 player and SVM-1000 audio/video mixer. Like DJ Creme, Unique’s a former Connecticut mobile and club jock who parlayed his vast DJing skills into a VJ career, one that now includes work as a demonstrator of Pioneer Pro DJ’s range of products. In the past couple years, Unique has helped build his audience with memorable VJ sets at the International DJ Expo’s annual Promo Only/Pioneer party at House of Blues. (His “Bill O’Reilly Do It Live Remix,” which chops and electro-fies the cable blowhard’s famous on-air meltdown, was a hit at the ’08 Expo and it remains a YouTube fave.) He’s further raised his profile as a member the Video Assassins, a confederation of VJs that includes the visionary Roonie G. Unique has also begun to travel nationwide and abroad.

Come out for Jesse Marco’s first New Orleans appearance. Just twenty-two years old, New York native Jesse Marco has quickly solidified himself as one of America’s premiere deejays. As a teenager, Jesse, heavily influenced by his parents’ vast record collection, began to fuse rock, punk, soul, and funk with the hip-hop of his generation. “My parents musical tastes really shaped mine. My first cassette was Led Zeppelin and my second was Sam Cooke.”

Soon, Jesse began deejaying prep school parties around Manhattan largely filling his crates with his parents’ records. He laughs, “I was the only sixteen-year old deejay in the City playing Buddy Holly and Lauryn Hill.” Downtown crowds, however, quickly gravitated to his eclectic sets and by the time the young deejay graduated from high school he was a staple behind the velvet ropes inside New York’s most exclusive nightclubs.

Jesse’s encyclopedic knowledge of music and remarkable skill have since taken him around the globe spinning private parties for celebrities including Heidi Klum, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, and Karolina Kurkova. Jesse has become a favorite of the fashion and art worlds playing high-profile events for Calvin Klein, Vivienne Westwood, Donna Karan, Diesel, GQ, and Kaws. Of his choice to hire Jesse to deejay his Milan Fashion Week runway show, Tom Ford said Jesse’s “musical taste reminds me of my childhood.”

Between celebrity and corporate events, Jesse deejays at the most recognizable nightclubs in the world including Liv (Miami), Pure (Las Vegas), VIP Room (Paris), and Chinawhite (London). An emerging producer, Jesse has recently remixed tracks for Kings of Leon, Brandon Flowers, and Peter Bjorn and John.

Jesse has modeled for Marc Jacobs, Uniqlo, and Converse. He has been featured in Vanity Fair, The New York Post, W, The Hollywood Reporter, and GQ.

DJ Jive Bio:

Born in the swamp and raised all over the southern hemisphere, Bryan Normand aka DJ Jive started his music career at age 16 rocking house parties in high school. After a transplant to Los Angeles, CA he developed his mixing style with gigs in local nightclubs. He is known for his super eclectic club DJ sets that include a wide range of genres from southern hip-hop & electronica to classic rock & reggae. His rapidly gaining popularity combined with a passion for creative expression through music, Jive is the sought after disc jockey by such clients as: Maxim Magazine, Playboy, Spin Mag, Sony Playstation, Under Armour, EA Sports, and a long list of others. Today he resides in New Orleans and is the creative mind behind Force Feed Radio, brand manger of Sneaker Politics (New Orleans) and works diligently to remain at the forefront of the music and entertainment scene. With an unrelenting schedule DJ Jive can be found undertaking studio projects by day and performing at events, nightclubs, and festivals by night.

Every Saturday Night the two story warehouse turns into Metropolitan nightclub and opens its doors as the premier video nightclub of New Orleans.

This month’s event features a SALSA dance class from 9-10, free with admission. DJ Chily brings the rhythms from 10-11. New Orleans’ own DJ Flaco brings the flavor from 11-2.
